MD baltimore/Glen Bunrie Area, help!!

I have an Evo8 that I bought it used. it's running a lot slower than it should. I race some cars that I know i should be beating and I lose. no.., i'm not a bad driver.

i think it may have something to do with the previous owner's tuning. Maybe the ecu is tuned to something else? i'm not sure. Is there a way for me to reflash to the stock map?

The dealer can flash you back.

BUT, you may not want to. Any mods? In the long run, i would go get a tune by a reputable tuner. Will save you money.

If you have an intake without a tune and certain other mods, it can actually hurt performance.

Check everything first like boost leak etc. are you boosting pretty good? how many psi? is it tapering down alot? you can also buy a tactrix cable, down load Ecu Flash and Mitsu logger or just take it to a speed shop and have them re-flash it.

I have a downpipe and exhaust only.
i'm not spiking any boost or tapering down bad.
i'm hitting around 19psi on my auto meter boost gauge.
It's just mad slow. I can't even beat like rsx type s with I/H/E.
wtf? Help. And how much does it cost generally if I go to a shop and reflash?

Thanks so much for your replies. i really appreciate it.

Contact Nick @ DTM in Chantilly, VA He took care of me when I had a similar problem. Excellent tuner! I'm right at 308AWHP now and it feels so much better than it did before.

You are right you should be smokin RSX with minimal mods.

Good luck.

I would suggest either giving CBRD or LMS a call to get you fixed up.

Congrats on the new car by the way.

Thank you guys for all your advice(s).

At this point I"m not lookin to tune or anything. Unfortunately i won't be modding more than what I have, so I was just looking for stock map. (I can't mod for another year or so...long and personal story) Which I'm highly doubting what's in my ecu. I understand that there are many reputable shops in va and md, but wanted to get stock map at a minimal price. (Now I sound like a cheapo! heh...) where do you think it's the cheapest price?

ANd thanks again in advance.
