I''ve got an F90BT HU to install in my brand new EVO. Since the install involves swapping out the stock fosgate amp and incorporates the stock speakers, I'd rather get someone who has worked on the new Lancers before. I'm in Alexandria, but can travel to get quality work if necessary

Well, I paid the $2k for the HIDs and the FAST Key, really. I couldn't care less about the giant wing, and I need NAV, DVD and IPOD control, so the stock HU is woefully inadaquate. I do plan to use the Rockford speakers and sub though.

 

ull blow the speakers and sub in no time. what you said makes no sense. you NEED the NAV DVD and IPOD do you not have it factory or do you have the turd one?

 

My car is the same as yours--GSR with SSS, meaning it has the 6-disc changer: no Nav or DVD, and IPOD playback through AUX jack but no way to control it with the HU.

I don't see why I would blow the Fosgate speakers just by switching to another amp and HU...I don't need the system to be louder, just separated into surround sound. Depending on the DB sensitivity of the stock speakers, I may even be able to power them directly from the 22-50/channel amp built into the Pioneer HU and get an amp only for the sub. These issues/questions are exactly why I want to find an installer with experience working on these systems
