Trans rebuild. Baltimore

Where's a good shop to get a 6 speed rebuilt in the Baltimore area. Don't have the resources or time to take it far so gotta be in the Baltimore area or Frederick area.

Talk to Andrew Tech in Gaithersburg Maryland. They are mainly a Subie shop but have built two of my 6 speed MR Trannies in the past.

Lonnie doesn't do any rebuilds though, we usually sent them out to Shep when I worked there.

If you want to just have someone handle removal, shipping, receipt, and reinstall, I'd also vote for Lonnie at Lascuola. Awesome guy, great communications, terribly honest with his work and very knowledgeable for basic mechanical work. I say basic because I haven't had him do anything more yet.

I was looking for something this week. Have gotten the case off, but the rails won't come out. The trans was locked up and appears one of the detents, or pins that hold the rail in slipped or broke and locked the rails into the bellhousing.

Anyone have any thoughts?

If you get it over to me this week I can look at it but we will send it out to shep for internal repairs. We prefer to leave that to the specialist!! Good luck with whatever you decide!
