Tracks/AutoX around Virginia

I am possibly moving to the Reston VA area, depending on a possible job move. One of my considerations is places to race on autocross courses (parking lot cones setups), and drag racing tracks.

What is near/close to Reston VA?

I am lucky where I live now that I have access to a few clubs in the area that have autoX courses in parking lots on a regular basis, a drag strip only about 45 miles away, and a decent 2.5 mile track to run my EVO.

Just wondering what is near the Reston, VA area.

thanks

You'll be close to the DC Region for SCCA AutoX. They usually run at FedEx Field and Blue Crab Stadium. There's usually a National Tour at FedEx field too. You can also run with the Richmond area, which is what I run with because I live in Fredericksburg. www.vmsc.org for that area. They run at Richmond International Raceway, Virginia Motorsports Park, and Meadow Events Park.

I live in Reston, so you'll be close to me! Kidding.

Summit Point is easy as could be to get to from Reston. Up the toll road, through the Greenway, and you're almost there.

Most of the big AutoX events happen at Fed Ex Field. But there's almost always something to there...the karts are awesome.

Looks like it is official....I'll be heading down to Herndon, VA area.

If anyone lives near the area, PM me. I would like to know what apartments/condo's might be good places to consider.

I'll be living in a motel for the first 30 days most likely until I find something...

hey man, congrats on the move! Im down from philly. Main office is right off the toll road in Herndon, had an apartment 2 miles from the toll road exit for about a year. down in arlington Va now.

having been racing much bc of money, but lots of good options. autoX at fedEx field, Summit (karting and Nasa/HPDE), VIR is a couple hours. decent crowd of people just spread out a little.

atlanic motorsports is in gaithersburg about 40min easy drive, good quality shop.

shoot me a PM when you start planning everything out. not a real estate guy but may be able to point you in the right direct. there is a real estate broker I know who rocks an evo i could connect you with. always good to meet some more evo guys!

cheers and gl on the move

I start work Nov 14th. My goal is to find a garage so I can bring the EVO with me...for now..its the beater car (Subaru Legacy)....

I have found lots of 1 bedrooms in the $1,200mo range, something cheaper would be nice...but maybe not realistic...I still have Pittsburgh home prices stuck in my head...so housing is sticker shock when I look around...
