** Richmond Area Evo's **
 

I'm noticing more and more traffic of locals around the area and although there have been some attempts in the past to get some GTG's going, I'm willing to put forth some effort to make this happen. When I moved here 3 years ago there wasn't any VW car scene whatsoever and although there is currently another growing period we have actually had some great times (richmonddubs.com) and I'm glad to have helped get things started around here...

My current plans are to feel out enthusiast interest in holding a cookout in October and possibly having a couple shops( from around town and possibly MD) come by to hang out and shoot the breeze. But first we need to start getting together on at least a monthly basis if not maybe bi-weekly. I don't want to start formal weekly gatherings because usually this becomes boring and not much to do.


What I need is for everyone to generate some energy about finally establishing some communication and a meeting place.

Also plans to have some enjoyable monthly events like..
- Going out for dinner at a new restaurant and then cruising town (aka backroads!!).

- Caravans to each autocross (if not racing to BS and talk cars!!).

- Tech days where we can all assist modifying or fixing cars. I for one have already spent many hours wrenching in my friends garage learning the ways...



I have a location already located near the West End but also have potential for a Southside meeting place.

Tentative date to just have a meet and greet is Monday - September 19th.


Who's interested? I need replies and also if possible PM me your contact information so that I can gather the info to possibly setup an email distribution list for at ease chatter to not clutter the forums too much.

we had a mini meet down here yesterday

Hampton Roads will give ya some traffic, like ksquad said we had a small meet/install day the other day. If there are enough of yal in Richmond maybe we can meet yal half way(Williamsburg).

Yep I bought a red one and have a black one for sale. Gimme a pm sometime this week and maybe we could meet up. The 272s sound mean with the buschur.

If anyone would like to stop by my house thursday night after 5pm I'll be just detailing my car and just chilling. Be cool to start a GTG like scene going and get to know the scene around here.

I also got word from a shop about techdays that we could do monthly. Gather up and drive north to their shop to use their lifts, space and grill. Grill up and crush out some parts.

So who's interested ?

Sweet. Well the more the merrier. I just heard from a friend another wrx/sti meet is going down this sunday off of Hull st. So I'm planning on attending to just see some more of the scene. Probably take a cruise somewhere..so PM if you wanna join in.

so anyone acutally used the dealer in town for service, and how good or bad are they about mods on our cars?

I haven't yet but need to go in for my recall...

Hey Mike where is this place in the west end??

VW4Life, I am the organizer that put together the Glory day grill friday night meet in the westend. I am currently trying to start a new meet with a better location so more people would come out. Are you interested in combining effort? Our old meet consist on not just evos (most are gone, sold) but 350Zs, STIs, and such. Our meet goes back about 4 years, which jumped from location to location. We started out at the innsbrook starbucks and move on to 4 different locations.

BTW do you work with Brian at the mac store in shortpump? He used to come to the Friday night weekly meet long time ago when he first moved to Richmond.
