DIY'ers around Norfolk
Anyone? I'd like to help or be helped. Biggest I need help on is installing my o2 wideband. Electrical stuff is a big headache for me. I like to do things proper so I usually take the whole day to do something and absorb as much knowledge as I can while doing installs.
I only know one person that owns another evo at work, but I rarely see him and he doesn't have time to mod it. |
If your not opposed to paying try sage auto. I can do some things, but the Synapse bov kicked my @$$ and i actually watched him do part of the install just to see how he did it and learn little tricks..pretty awesome shop.
|
I had sage auto do my front sway bar as I knew it'd take forever without a lift and air tools. They know what they're doing. I'm extremely opposed to paying. Rather spend it on parts and learn about my car. {thumbup} I wouldn't be able to buy half the stuff I have if I kept forking it over for labor. :(
Oh, I'm not from around here either. I'm only here because of military. I'm peacing out of this place right away once my orders here are done. |

Where in San Diego are you from? which evo do you have?
My brother and i are from Spring Valley. |
I'm from national city in san diego.
I read about the wideband install. Just trying to figure out which wires I should splice into. |
Which wideband do you have? Why would you need to splice into any wires?
|
Like the Jesus said, if you have an after market down pipe with a bong already on its easy. If not your gonna need one welded on. And the only wires you should have to splice is a power and a ground for the gauge. Everything else should be plug and play.
|
What kind of wideband do you have? I installed my Innovate LC-1 without much trouble, I'd be willing to help if you want.
|
I have an innovative also. The power wire is the one I'm a little troubled with. I just don't want an srs light or some gayness that'll take more of my time. I'm not too keen with splicing either. I'm no good with wires, I should've hung around my big bro back in the day when he diy'd a lot of his own stereo setups.
Thanks for all the replies. JDM bumper should be done tomorrow. I should take pics lol. I like to document my work and look back on it. Feels rewarding. I'll be free friday, saturday and sunday. Hit me up on AIM if you wanna bs and talk trash about other cars. |
Oh yeah, I have an invidia and perrin downpipe. I should've checked first, didn't know I already had a 3" dp with a bung on it. Bought the perrin dp locally and put a bung on it too lol. *slap forehead*
Anyway...back to my jdm bumper rivets!!! *fires up the dremel* |

haha, yes cigarette powers are awesome. had my 85 4runner p/w, p/d and alarm hooked to that circuit. haha.
I am confused... your worried about splicing wires but you want to install something? thats a oxymoron aint it? |
Thanks! I'm going to have to drop my exhaust tomorrow. I have a perrin tbe atm. Fitment is not perfect, downpipe vibrates against the transfer case a little during idle and the hangers on the catback are a little off so it's twisted just a tiny bit, nothing bad, just annoys the piss out of me when something doesn't fit almost perfectly.
I'm going to install my greddy catback, invidia downpipe and wideband tomorrow. I hate going under the car, wish I had a lift, things would go waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster.:crap: Oh yeah, other reason I'm dropping the perrin catback is because it's too long so the muffler won't let me put the jdm bumper on. All I need is the bumper installed and I'm done with that deal, instead I still have to get the catback shortened lol. My DIY endeavors fails so much atm. |
