ECU/wireharness help

Hey guys,
This is not a topic for an EVO, I used to have one but a damn shop screwed my car up so I passed my problem on to someone else. Without further ado, it is about my DSM (and EVO happens to be a DSM).
I have done the2gen to 1 gen motor swap. It is now at a shop here in Salt Lake City, however, when I fire up the car we get no reading on my MAF sensor or my TPS. I have already bought a new MAF and we are still not getting a reading. Secondly, when I read up on my SAFC it shows that the throttle is at 100% or sometimes 0% open. That is not good either, oh ya, it also won't rev past 1450 +/- RPM.
The shop owner has suggested to getting a new ECM and wireharness (the one that sits on the pass. wheel well in the engine bay).
My question for the people that are familiar with the motor swap.
Has this problem happened to any of you, and if so, how was if corrected?
I am using still the 2gen ECU,ECM, and wire harness.
Should I swap all of my ECU,ECM, and wire harness to a 1gen? I have been told to stay with the 2gen because that was a USA based engine and the 1gen are all Japanese.
