Buying an evo in Illnois
Hey everyone,
i'm working with an evom member who is selling his GG IX mr in Illinois. I was wondering if anyone near him could check out/test drive the car on my behalf. He is located in Huntley Illinois. First to volunteer gets a 24 pack!! (well the money to buy one at least).
i'm looking for someone who can take video and still frame footage of the car and the test drive. If you own an evo then that's a plus, because you can compare this car to yours when it was stock and you know what kind of things to look for. Anyways, let me know. Thanks.

Its a rebuilt car. Seems to be a solid car though. I am not afraid to buy rebuilt cars. I went to school for collision repair. I know the purpose of a body shop is to make a vehicle like new after a collision.
Car def. looks good though!

From the little I know about the car it was done right, I have fixed many evos in the past and you can't tell that this was ever wrecked and I remember the pics of his car before it was fixed and imo it was rather minor damage as it was all cosmetic for the most part.
I have a good trained eye for any imperfections and this one looks good.
If repaired properly you will never know that the collision happened.

HAVE YOU CHECKED WITH BOTH YOUR LENDER AND INSURANCE COMPANY TO CONFIRM ....
1. THEY'LL LOAN YO THE $$$$
2. THEY WILL INSURE A SALVAGE/REBUILT CAR
The purchase of a SALVAGE/ REBUILT vehicle is risky at best.
Keep in mind one day you will want to re-sell this car. The same issues will pertain to the next potential buyer.... You will deal with a lot of people ('cause it's cheap) but it will be a hard sell.
IMO pony up the jiing and buy a clean title car. It's a lot of cash for a crash.
I'm just sayin'......

This is my old car. I'd post a link to the wreck pictures, but my webhost is currently down. If you'd like to see it, shoot me a PM with your email address. (I hesitated posting here since I don't want to ruin anyone's sale, but the pics were up on EvoM for the past 6 months anyways, and if it was properly fixed, its previous condition shouldn't matter)
The car was solid when I owned it. The damage was substantial enough for my insurance to total it, but there was very little damage done to the powertrain insofar as I could tell. If the car was properly fixed, I see no reason why it wouldn't be a good buy at a certain price that takes into account its salvage title status.
