Service at Max Madsen in Aurora?

Hey everyone.

Has anyone dealt with, or had there car serviced, at the Max Madsen in Aurora? My car just turned 15k and I heard it's good to get some stuff checked out. Some guy on the phone from there said there is an engine flush or something that they recommend every 15k. You guys have any thoughts?

Thanks for any advice or help!

nope, dealt with the parts though, they tried to tell a couple of my customers that the prices they were giving were fair...they were 30-40% over list price...a couple times double.

Whatever they tell you for engine flushes and injector cleaning services, don't do them, that's what they'll do on the Hyundai's and stuff (they're not a Mitsu only specialist dealer). You can do the fuel additive which is simply a chevron techron fuel additive for mild cleaning and lubrication, the oil additive they do with the service is just a high zinc additive for wear protection with a mild detergent for cleaning on your next visit.

We do the services he often and per a Mitsu rep, here is a simple breakdown of what is provided in the Evo X 15K service.

Synthetic Oil Change + Filter
Air Filter Replacement
Rotation of Tires
Fuel Additive
***T/B Cleaning (removes debris and gunk left by the emissions systems employed on vehicle)*** Mitsubishi learned a lesson with this one when people kept having sticky T/B's and different response of the throttle. Wasn't too big of a deal with the 8/9 models because they were cable but the new drive-by-wire T/B's are a bit different and it's good to service them. This isn't your normal cleaner you buy from autozone either.
Inspection of Brakes and Suspension Components
Scan of vehicle to ensure non-ready codes aren't present

There are a few things done as you see, nothing too major but it does incur mild costs.

I know the guys over at Grand Mitsu and they do good work if you need warranty stuff done. Beyond that, take it to one of the local Evo specialists, your in Chicago so there are plenty and way cheaper than a dealer.

15K service

Dealers - 280-320 after tax
Our price - 240 after tax

Do some shopping around and see what you can find. The guys over at Grand are in the realm of 285-290 after tax. Service guy's name is Ali, tell him I sent ya and he'll take care of you. Or you can give a shop a call like I said before.
