Blow Transfer Case! Kinda Cool.

Yup my transfer case went out but it was funny because i thought an axle was messed up but it was cool no whining or nothing. TODAY i got 2 race my friend in his CRX. we pull up to the light and I do what i normally do quick revs around 5000-5500RPMS and Launch. I WAS LIKE WTF! Im sitting in one spot number 1 and number 2 my rear tires are BURNING like SHYT. I started to Laugh like shyt! I was like DAMN I got an RWD EVO . So Imma take the car in tomorrow and hopefully they can fix it. I got like 46,000 on the car so Im still in warranty if they give it to me! Got like exhaust and other shyt on the car does that mean they will make me pay for it? Let me know your thoughs thanks.

OH AND can the front Diff go out?!

should check out the front diff.

make sure you goto the right dealership. That and not having a cat might be a problem, if you don't have cat.

You didn't have whine, grind sound on decel or anything before it went?

interesting.

hope it works out. the drivetrain is covered under warranty, so you could possibly get it done, but you know how some service manager and service people are like.

**** like there's no tomorrow.

Well my Music was too loud to hear the whining but as of now it sounds normal but I have no front wheel drive. Car handles like garbage now. AS soon as I hit boost the car is drifting. But Yea I hope it does work out man because I will fcked if they dont repair it. Oh and I dont have a cat. Matter of fact I have the DCSports Downpipe with the cat delete built in so its one long pipe. I might be getting waxed with that.

yeh, the dealership/ regional rep who decides on that stuff is fairely harsh on not having a cat.

least your car could still move. which is sorta odd, since we're front wheel drive base, so if the transfer case breaks, you wouldn't have any sorta driving ability?

could it be your front diff or axel messed up?

Tub it out and throw a couple of slicks on there! If you don't know your local dealerships very well then keeping the stock exhaust ready to bolt back on is a very good idea for these situations.

It really doesn't sound like a transfer case problem. If your transfer case breaks the car will have NO drive at all. It sounds like a broken driveshaft.

I have to say I'm really surprised by these replies. The guy admits that he broke the car doing 5500 rpm standing starts on the dragstrip and you're giving him advice about how to make a fraudlent warranty claim. We ALL know that dragracing breaks cars...that's a risk you take when you hit the dragstrip. You can't expect a manufacturer's warranty to cover abuse. If someone isn't man enough to take responsibility for his actions, then he shouldn't dragrace with his car.

It's beacuse of BS like this that legitimate warrenty claims get denied.

Not really fraud simply by the fact that they give you warranty on it. If they didnt want to give warranty then they would give that 12month 12000mile stuff like they do on the clutch. But ah well Manufactor shouldnt of made that part so weak. CLutch is one but the TRANSFER CASE number 2 why?

im thinking its the front diff because before I couldnt make any hard left or rights. Then I was being stupid and mad it worse. I Lifted the car up and to check. I drain the Transfer case and there were no metal shavings. ODD I have RWD but the front wheels barely pull. FRONT DIFF MESSED UP? Does this mean they might get me a 05 LSD?!
