Changed my TC Fluid yesterday...

Went by the book: Diaqueen from Lancershop. Today I'm noticing a very quiet grinding (for lack of a better word) when turning left or right at 25mph or so. Its not loud, but its not normal either...Any ideas?

Sounds to me like your front diff might be damaged! Jack up the front of the car and rotate the tires. The opposite tire should rotate the other way. If when you rotate them, if its not a smooth rotation and it locks up. IT deifinitely the front diff and or the TC.Call Jon at TRE 269-382-2669 he knows a lot and can help you

Thanks for the tip Evil.

Just jacked it up - rotated one tire, other moved just fine in the opposite direction. No weird noise. Did the same to the opposite tire, no noise.

Any other ideas fellas?

Do you have springs in the car? If you do it might be that. I would take it to the dealer, if they are mod friendly. Does the car turn all the way when making the turns? If the tires rotated fine then i dont think its the front diff. Call Jon at TRE or pm him. His screen name is GEARS

No springs, just 3" TBE, UTEC (on map 0 - IE not doing anything), Blitz turbo timer w/ boost gauge.

This morning coming to work I didn't notice the sound while turning. Is there a chance that the new oil needed to "break in"?

BTW, I have a SS clutchline with the restrictor removed, but I have never launched, tracked or driven the car very hard.

When you change your diff fluids its always a good idea to go to a parking lot and do like 8 or 9 sharp 360 turns both ways so the fluid can get where it needs to go.

Not really a "break in", but I wouldn't raise the alarm yet (on your quiet sounds)

Dude mine did the same thing. Im taking to MITSU tomorrow. The techs tell me its the transfer case. It happened to me RIGHT after i changed my fluids We are in the same BOAT.
Also if you turn to the right or left does the car seem to slow down? and if you keep going does it make a loud pop?

No loud pops or slowing. It was only when turning left. Didn't hear anything this morning...

If it starts again do you guys think I should de-mod the car before taking it in? (SS clutch line, clutch restrictor removed, TBE, UTEC)

Depends on how friendly the service manager is.

I would maybe take out the UTEC.

If these type of problems are happening after change the tc fluids it almost makes you wonder if you should chage them. Why would fresh lube make it go bad it just doesn't make since. I am getting close to having mine done just a little worried.
