Downpipe Question

Okay.... I'm looking to get a down pipe that can fit the stock system without modiciation... Please note that I have heard that a lot of down pipes end up hitting or causing things to relocate. I want an easy simply install with a good performing down pipe...

ANYONE with suggestions?

HKS downpipes always work fine. Helix works fine. I mean some like the Turboxs require putting in a spacer but i mean helix and hks work fine. Pm us if you need one.

If you're gonna keep the stock turbo and the stock cat, then a 2.5" (or thereabouts) DP seems to be the way to go. A 2.5" DP is what's fitted to the Buschur BR330 and BR350 special editions being sold through Medina Mitsubishi.

The HKS DP is also regarded as very high quality and bolts straight on (part # 3306-SM002, 65 mm = 2.56", $445 MSRP). I'm sure you can get it for less through one of the EvoM vendors.

What other mods do you have? Sorry to get off topic a bit.

People make the dp out to be a huge performance enhancer, it's really not.

I strongly suggest a cat back before a dp. I am making an assumption based on the fact that you want it to bolt up to a stock system. I am sorry if im wrong.

WORKS DP will fit perfect, at least the 70mm will, and for a plus it is ceramic coated.

Not to ***** the thread, but will all 2.5 dp's work with a 3" hi flow or test pipe? If so than that might be the way for me to go.

The WORKS 70mm/2.75'' DP will work with a 3" HF/TP.

If you're going with a 3" test pipe or HFC, then I think common wisdom says to go 3" all the way i.e. get a 3" DP too; you've got nothing to lose (but probably a lot to gain).

David Buschur and others recommend enhancing your exhaust system from the tailpipe forward. A larger downpipe will only be choked by the restrictive system downstream. This will result in little or no gain.
