Boost hoses too long or too short

I read some time ago (I cant remember where) that the boost hoses that are going from the turbo to the MBC then to the WG should be as short as possible. I have an after market turbo with external WG and I am trying to relocate my mbc as the spot I have it in right now is too hot (right front of the radiator). I am thinking about running a line from the turbo compressor to the mbc at the battery then going back to the WG.. Is that too far? Will it make any difference in response?

Thanks for the help

I also have my mbc on the radiator fan bolt, but I'm running the stock turbo. My first setup was on the battery tie-down and I couldn't feel a difference. But then again I'm still with the stock turbo. I really don't think it makes a huge difference. 20 psi of pressure in a small hose moves extremely fast if you think about it. Let us know what you end up doing. I'm also curious.
