Waterless Coolant... Do you use it?
Waterless Coolant... Do you use it?
I was at the track(T- HILL) alittle while back and started talking to a supra owner. He mentioned Evan's waterless coolant, and PRAISES it. It's about $30/gallon. He said once you change to waterless coolant, you never have to change ur coolant again. It also has a higher boiling point than regular coolant. I was wondering if anyone here uses it in their EVO. What do you think? Is your EVO a daily driver, weekend warrior or both? I'm considering switching over. I only track my car about 2-3 three times a year if i'm lucky, but if i never have to change my coolant or worry about it boiling over then i would be sold on the product.

Evan's stuff is straight propylene glycol with corrosion inhibitors. You have to remove *all* the water from your cooling system. You may need a new water pump, the viscosity is way higher than regular coolant when it's cold. Do you have winter where you live? PG won't freeze but it'll be like roofing tar. I don't think this is really intended for a daily driver, seems more for show cars that sit a lot. And for a real track car you run straight water since any glycol is a pain to clean if you puke it up on the track..
