Pressure reading is sometimes 0......on idle

My car idles -10 to -13inHg usually.....but sometimes, it idles at 0...and i usually start getting pressure reading when i start driving the car. Also, i have been getting a 0401 code - Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected.

Does anyone know if they are related somehow?
Any inputs greatly appreciated!

Where is your boost gauge tapped? It sounds like it's tapped after the Fuel Pressure solenoid.

And you may also have a defective EGR valve

I had a mechanical boost before i got my turbosmart eboost on there....i thought that the mechanical gauge was "sticking" so i ignored the problem........but now its doing to the ebc too..........

is the EGR valve the 90 degree elbow located on the left rear of the cam cover? Do you know if the gauge reading 0, and faulty EGR valve be causing the 0401 code?

the sticking is just the system getting up to speed.. mine takes like half a sec to move on start up also.. starts at like -10 and when the car warms up it settles at -15 .. and if im driving just cruising its at -20

i have the same connection point as you....

I got the 272i/264e because i read a post saying that using the 272/264 combo, "the turbo will spool faster at low rpm......like putting your thumb over a garden hose, the water will exit with higher velocity and shoot further". Thats why i went with that, sound really logical to me..... I figured if it doesnt work, i'll just have to buy another 272e. The theory actually worked FOR ME, because after i replaced my O2 housing, 3" DP and every thing after that, i lost all my low end torque! Had to wait for the rpm to hit like ~3400 b4 the car would start pulling....with the 272/264, the car would start pulling from ~2800.......

I just want to find out if the 0401 code has something to do with the occasional 0 reading on the pressure gauge during start up. I dont have any idling issues.

hmm dont think that had to do with the code... go to an autozone or store similar they should be able to pull the code for free.
