DTM TAKE 1st in REDLINE TIME ATTACK at BEAVERUN!!
DTM Motorsport takes the MODIFIED AWD win in the 2006 EVO 9 MR and second fastest lap time of the day overall (behind the Unlimited Bushuer Magnum Car).
The car is using a stock 2.0 motor with only a ECUTEK flash, Greddy Exhaust, GT30R turbo, injectors and an intercooler. Car was fast and consistent all day long and was topping out 5th gear on the straights (145mph).
Lap Times during the Saturday practice were in the 1.06 range.
Official Winning time of 1.03.95 which is possibly a track record for my class but I have not checked. My second lap was a 1.0445 just to make sure the first wasn't a fluke. The NASA T1 record is supposed to be 1.02. Second place Nukabe sponsored Cusco STI was 1 sec slower with a 1.04.9.
**UPDATE!!: T2 Class Track Record was 1.05.135 in a Camaro. This is a new track record.
Car has a full interior including back seat, stock bumper beams, stock driveline. Upgrades include rear sway bar, espelier springs, Robi Spec Basic, stock MR bilstein shocks and mounts. The car was running full weight (3400lbs) when compared to some of the other competitors. Nothing was taken out. We probably added more weight because of the heavier intercooler and plumbing. We were also running 93 pump gas and the tune was perfect for the mountain air.
Car will be at the next Time Attack and other venues. DTM has only scratched the surface with this car. We wanted to see what the stock stuff could do and found out a lot. Very impressive car. Look for DTM car coverage in Modified Mag.

Congratulations Michael! Watching you and Robert on the track was quite inspiring. Thanks for the tips as well
After spinning out on the first practice run I talked to you-after that, on my fourth hot practice lap ever at BeaveRun, I hit a 1:06.2. Long live the Evo!!
Thanks again and hope to see you push that beautiful car again soon,
Johannes

Thanks Johannes,
It was nice meeting you. You are also a great driver considering that you were running street tires a 1.06 is nothing to sneeze at. I hope we meet again at another shootout. Will you be at the Summit Point event? Car will be getting some more mods to make it even faster. These cars are amazing keep up the good work.
Michael.
Call Robi if you want to know more. He sold me a solid setup.
