Whatever you do though, don't work with Steve! After we said (wife and I) that we're waiting for something with more power (hoping an AWD-T Ralliart or something is in the works to compete with the WRX). The @sshole said, "what, the Evo?" And just for ***** and giggles I said yeah. He responded, "An Evo? You know that's like 40 grand right?" I said, eh...just a drop in the bucket. Steve says, "okay"... Alright, at this point I was ready to tell my wife to get in the car and say were going to the other Mitsu dealer, but I strung him out longer asking detailed questions about the new Lancer... He didn't have a clue about anything, not even the estimated HP. I was like, oh you mean the 152 horses! LOL You douche!!!

Anyways, on a different note...anyone else notice the HUGE @ss muffler on these thing? At first I thought it was the gas tank, but the piping came out of it! Whoa...

 

I had a bad experience when looking at the Lancer myself. The first dealer I went to had this young sales manager. You could just tell by the way he handled himself that he had an ego to the moon.

When I buy cars I dont beat around the bush. I used to work car rental, and its handled the same way as car sales. I walked in and told the guy I wanted a GTS for 18 out the door. He basically sat there and told me only a moron would do that. Then he tried to get me to spend more? How are you expecting someone to work with you when you insult them

So he said no dealership would sell a new GTS for less than 19,000 out the door. So, I went to the Mitsu dealership a couple blocks from my place and got one out the door for 18,700. At that dealer I walked in and said "I have a dealer offering 19 out the door, can you do better?" and they did. I talked and signed all the papers in a half an hour, when at the other place the guy pressured me for 2 hours while I sat there asking for my license back.

One thing I love about car clubs is you can find the dealerships that have good people. I think before anyone buys a car they should try to find some forums online that can give them some pointers on where to buy.

 

I just purchased a Lancer GTS CVT Nav+Tech and Sun+sound in Maryland. Now I live in PA so here is where the fun begins. Apparently PA changed the law for all 2008 models. They have to be California Emissions...well the dealer did not know it and either did I. Lucky I found it out the second day I had to froma competing dealer her in PA. Well I called and they tried to get one from the Mitsubish inventory only to find out they were not allowed to sell the Cal Emis. ones. So they lost a good segment of their yearly sales. Anyway they had to contact a dealer in PA to play switch a car so they could get me a Cal Emis. version. Sucks I get the car and love it but I stopped driving it until they could work this out. Looks like it will be another two days until I actually get to drive a Lancer again.

 

^Ah crap man! That sucks... I have nothing against Dick Smith, hell...I bought my current Lancer there! But that one guy was a complete douche! I remember like a year ago or something I asked as soon as they got in a Ralliart Gallant to give me a call. Never a word... Guy said today, yep....we've never got one. Man, missing sales left and right not having the right inventory!

 

Go to Easley Mitsubishi. Guys are great there and the shop is wonderful. They also have a sunset pearlescant Ralliart Galant instock, slvroz 03

Well I can't win. The only two Graphite Gray Lancers in PA were sold over the weekend and the Dealer is Maryland can't get a car like the one they sold me. So they said pick another cool or wait until middle of May.

I tried to explain to them the reason I bought the car last week was to drive the freakn thing. So I told them a couple other color choices. So they are looking around now for them.

So lets do a small poll. Who thinks they will be able to score me a car in the next two days and what color should I get?

LOL...Well tonight is the night. I am going down to get my real Lancer. They found me an apex silver. Not really happy about that but it was one of my three color choices. Soooo I only have myself to blame. When I get to the dealer I am bring along my can opener for my can of whoopbutt. I am going to ask for more off and the trunkmat and cargo net. Not sure what else I want to get from them. They are to far away to get free oil changes etc. Maybe a nice Mitsub shirt, jacket or hat...maybe even a keychain...lol

Well I got the car but here is the messed up part of it. In MD and NJ(where they finally located it) They have front and rear plates. In PA we only have rear plates. So the new Lancer does not have a license plate bracket or holes so they drill right into the bumper to mount the plate. So I get there and they are pulling off the front plate and I notice the two holes in the bumper and I ask...what the heck is up with that. They explain that is there only option and the reason my first Lnacer did not have it was becasue it had just come off the trucka nd they knew I was from PA. So now I have two holes in my bumper....OMG I was soooo pissed. I still am now I have to hit a body shop here in PA and have them fixed...more money out of my pocket I could use for upgrades.

I love the car. First new car I have ever purchased and I can't stop driving it...wonderful car.

 

GO to san rafael mitsubishi they gave me a great deal and a great rate im not really one to advertise for people but i had a great experience.. and i got a good rate... so i couldnt be happier with the car....

 

OR in the meantime put a Mitsubishi logo plate on the front . It will still look cool.

My Dealership experience was weird I have never bought a new car. So after watching King of Cars for a while I thought well I will hold out until I get a great deal . I think my deal was good but I did have to hold out. I hate when you go to a dealership and you know more about the car than the dealer. Really whats up with that dont you study your product before selling it. I asked the guy it says 9 speakers I only see 7 where are the other 2 . a Day later he tells me the rear ones are 2 way speakers I was like ok. How much HP and Torque does it have . Fortunately I already know all these details but I was just testing them. While I was in the dealership I tell this guy I have to talk it over with my wife . He is telling me to forget about her. So I tell him clearly your not married and may I have my licence back . It took me 30 min to get my licence back.
