I would like some feedback if somebody has. If you look at the bottom of that page, they are highly rated for wet and dry traction. It looks like they are only $151 each...

Not on the Evo, but they were standard equipment on the Ford Lightning. Stuck great for the first 5K miles, then got real hard and made for great smoke shows. I went through 2 sets on the rear of the truck in 11K miles, before going to drag radials. Seems like the first 1/16" or so of tread is sticky/grippy, under that its harder to make up the tread wear rating.

I have not had these on my Evo either, but they were standard equipment on my 98 Camaro SS. I totally agree with 2Cool as to the change in the tire after a certain amount of wear. Initially, they are super sticky but as they wear there seems to be a harder inner layer that just isn't all that. Considering the options in this size range, I wouldn't even put these on my list.

Just my two cents.

The F1 GS-D3 is a brand new tire - it has only been in production since November '02. Previous iterations of the F1 GS weren't all that good, and I suspect both of you had old versions (the D2 on the pickup and the original GS on the Camaro). The GS-D3 is comparable to Bridgestone's S03-Pole Position - good in the dry, great in the rain (for a sports car tire). There are better tires if you never drive in the rain.

WestSideBilly, good point, and also good point on the availability of better tires for wet riding, as well as for the price, as they are a bit on the steep side for the performance.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think I'm gonna be the first to try these on the EVO. I am more concerned about wet traction and these look like they might be as good as the SO3's but for less money...
