stock enkies vs Volk RE30
stock enkies vs Volk RE30
I wanted to do a brief write up on my experience and the feel of the car going from the stock enkies on an evo vii to 17 x 9 RE30's.
My car is a 2003 vii with muellerized JIC coilovers and stage 1 goodies.
I am running toyo t1r tires in 255/40/17 and found that alot of the cars agility and steering response had deminished when I went to the larger tire. Of course, the toyo's may not have the stiffest sidewall and this may be alot to do with the loss of response, but I was really not impressed with the new larger sized tires.
Today I purchased a set of RE30's in 17 x 9 +35mm and I can't believe what the 1inch in width has done to the responsiveness of the car. The car feels amazing and handles quite a bit better. Even though many people on this forum run the 255/40's on stock 17 x 8's, I feel that the larger size wheels are very beneficial to the cars handling over the stock 17 x 8 size wheels.
That's all.
