All Season Tires

Hey All,

As the title states I was wondering what is a good set of "All Season" tires. I don't have the luxury nor the space to have a set of summer and winter tires and the time to change them. So for the time being I was in need of some advice as to what is a good set of "All Season" tires. Help a fellow EVOer out. Thanks.

Sumotomo ALL Seasons, Dirt cheap and lasted forever, they just wouldn't run down. Killed handling (Compaired to the ADVANS) but GREAT for drag racing, my fastest times ever were on them.

dont buy pirelli pzero nero m/s.

i had them on the car for ~18 miles.

i drove to get it aligned & I felt sick to my stomach thinking "what the f--k did i waste my money on"? the car felt like it had 90 series tires with ~15 psi of air!

i got the car aligned & drove it back to discount tire & exchanged them..

gotta love their 30 day return policy.

i then went with a summer tire....hell, i live in socal.

idk for us running two different sets of tires works great because than theres the advantage of having nice performance tires for the summer and really grippy tires for the winter and it doesnt take much to change them out

IMHO the Evo is more fun in the Wet/Snow then on the Tarmac because ti just REALLY shines and outperforms most anything.

you can't evaluate a tire in less than 20 miles.

I have the Pirelli Pzero M/S and I really like them. You have to run them at fairly high pressure (~40psi). They don't grip like summer tires, but they're not bad. You probably didn't even run them long enough to get the mold release off them.

I like the Toyo Proxes 4's. I run 36 front and 33 rear psi and I think they handle pretty good. I am actually on my second set. I live in Ohio where we get a good amount of rain and cold and snowy winters. I don't drive the Evo in the snow any more ( I bought a AWD drive Bravada for that) mainly because I want to keep it out of the salt but when I did I thought these tires did pretty good then as well.

Not totally true. When I use to autocross my old car {1999 Nissan Mazima} and going through my tire selection. As soon as I installed the bridgestone S03 tires I could tell they were far better than the RE-750 tires. Next I switched to the B-Stone S-02 {OEM rear S2k} and knew that the where even better that the S03's. My autocross times proved it.

Not if you have all season tyres on I bought a set of Avon all season tyres since they got GREAT reviews and do they suck. Crappy handleing on Tarmac, even worse on Snow.

My advice to the OP, get a set of winter and summer tyres, you won't regret it. You said you don't have a way to get both but try.

I bought a set of Avon Tech M550's in 245/40/ZR18 and I am pretty happy with them. When pushed you can feel the sidewall flex and a bit of tread squirm. They seem to have decent grip and break away predictably. But lets be honest, the are all season tires! Don't expect stock Advan performance.

+1 I have the Proxes 4's on my car right now. They def handle pretty well for an all-season tire.
