Buying New Tires, what should I use?

I am buying new tires for my Evo 8 and i was wondering what kinda tires I should purchase cause i dont wanna just lose money on some tires. I have the Falken's they are like radials there like 255/40/17 i believe no quite sure. But i think they might be WAY to wide idk. Does this slow me down at all or no?? Or what should be the tire to go a lil wide but wont slow me down at all.....

You believe they might be "way" too wide? Then you haven't done one second of searching. Please do so...

a bunch of people seem to run 255/40/17 on the stock wheels. depends on the tire though. there are plenty of threads out there.

figure out what tires you have, and the exact size then just type it in the search i am sure you will find plenty of info.

I don't believe that, sorry. There are hundreds of threads talking about 255/40-17 RT-615s on stock-sized rims, and it's even posted in the wheel/tire fitment thread stickied at the top.
