How do you paint the brake calipers?

Really, that's all my question is...

I'm wondering if you remove it from the brake line or leave it where it is and just mask everything around it?, do you sand it? and finally what kind of paint should I use for it?

Thanks

Sanding is a good idea. At the very least, cleaning is a good idea.

Masking and spraying is fine.

Most auto parts stores sell caliper kits. They're usually a brush-on style rather than a spray can. Most people have good results from them.

Good, I like that idea a lot better...

So techically I don't even have to remove them? Spray with my wheel cleaner that removes dirt, brake dust and other crap. Wipe and wait for it to dry and then paint a few coats?

EDIT: I just read up on it at duplicolor... That kit is the answer to my question.

Now 1 more thing. I have the dark gray lancer GTS should I go with the red or yellow color...

RED.

Yellow is never an acceptable color for calipers (IMO).

You wouldn't like yellow when they get caked with brake dust either. Red, black or blue are the best bets.

Don't different caliper colors denote different types of brakes, too? I think yellow means ceramic, red is carbon or Kevlar or something.

Bottom line is that caliper painting is a nice touch. And to think Lamborghini charges $800 to paint them. owners?...10 bucks at Pep Boys!

I think you're thinking of EBC brake pads, not calipers.
