Works brain flash.

Works brain flash. Has anyone had any luck with it? Or does someone have a good reason not to go with it?

I've used it on my stock evo (cat-delete, full exhaust, drop-in filter)..

It was an amazing tune, especially that the P2R ups your boost without the need of a boost controller.. My car was running 23psi and the performance was great..

I truly recommend Works Flash for a first time basic modifications..

Dunno about the EvoX though..

Since you live in Virginia I assume you are talking about a mail-in reflash. If so, then you will get a good tune but it not be optimum. To obtain such you need a custom tune i.e., on a dyno to really optimize your car's output. Think there is a distributor in Ohio but not sure.
With mail-in you may be loosing 10-15% of maximum whp.

Yup, I was correct. Here is the site:
WORKS Flashing on the East Coast

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of our long time employees is now residing in the Columbus, Ohio area and can perform on site flashing for any east coast/mid-west/New England customers who would rather make the road trip to Ohio than mail their ECU in to WORKS. Price are the same as on our website, and he can do all versions of the flash including the P2 flash for the EVO X.

If you are interested in setting up an appointment for a Flash in the Columbus OH area, please send an email to info@worksmotorsports.com.

How about gas mileage (like it matters), and black smoke. The two biggest problems I have with my X performance wise is what feels like a big time loss of power after 5500 or so rpm and the black smoke. Id I could get the car to pull the whole way through the band like it does around 4k id be very happy.

Your X sounds like our VIII did when it was new. It was one of the first VIIIs sold in Cali so a very early car. Ran way too rich, wouldn't pull well above 5500 or so, and was puffin' even on start-up! Got the P-1 and the car was like a new car, ran great, pulled good, no problems. Added the P-2 when that came out and then the car really came alive. The P-2 was also upgraded for other mods that were made and again there was a good step up in performance. Never had a chance to dyno the car but the various changes would put us somewhere between their (WORKS) 303 and 340 packages. A good strong, reliable ECU mod.

Im ready to real soon. I would just feel way better having a works guy put it on a dyno and do it. I also while im at it want to just dropin their filter and look towards an exhaust option. I just wanna get it right the first time, im not interested in switching parts out like underwear. I think ill be trying to get up with the works guy in ohio and have him do the work.

Hey smoke4, consider linden, NJ at Iveytune with ECUtek tune for I think they are definitely closer than Ohio. Just a thought to also provide a custom tune.

These Mods make your car a "not Stock" evo.
