EVO VIII... Should I?

I have an oppurtunity to trade my '08 GTS with 60 thousand kms for an '03 EVOLUTION VIII with 75 thousand MILES. I need opinions... Up here in Canada, the EVO was never sold before the X came to town, so the VIII gets alot of looks. Its in great shape, and i have the oppurtunity to purchase a 2 year warranty with it. My question is... Should I?

when you think about it a year or two from now if you maintain the evo right and dont beat it to sh*t itll prob be worth more than your lancer would 2 years from now.

Its definetly everything ive always wanted my lancer to be... Im just wondering if the Evos value is close to my newer lancer. Now that the idea is in my head, ive been looking around near the seattle area, and noticed i could import an Evo IX from there for around the same $.

You have definetly got a point there 0220, the evo will be worth more sooner than later. The value of the Lancer is dropping faster than i expected. For the record, the trade isnt straight across, but within a few thousand. The dealership is offering me 17k for my trade, and selling the evo for just over 21. Now that i drove the evo, im having a tough time sayin no.

I'd take the VIII over the GTS any day... night and day difference. Even if it's a few thousand difference.

about value, the 8 will ALWAYS be worth more than a GTS the same number of years down the road, especially if you keep it clean, undamaged, and close to stock. as for power, DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, consider insurance costs!

but if insurance is not a problem for you, i HIGHLY suggest you do it!

17 for your GTS and 21 for a 8?
LOL.

Dude, Sell your GTS, and for the 17-20,000 you could get for it, well, you could buy a HELLA fast VIII or a NICE mint IX...

Why did you even ask a question like that? You know that the Evo is worth it.

To be completely honest, i was having this gut feeling not to do it. Its something about trading an 08 in and buyin an 03. I bought an extended warranty to go along with it though, so that gave me a little piece of security. I also had to do some convincing that this was a wise decision to the person lending me the xtra money. So the positive comments on here worked in my favor. Internet people are never wrong, lol.
