while getting a oil change at the local dealer I went out to look at the lancers and found that the 2010 got 30mpg hw, and the 2009 (mine) gets 27. they were both 2.4 gts models. The dealer didn't even notice the change, yes they are idiots. maybe its a difference in the test that the EPA did? maybe its a different fuel/air ratio. If you know any difference in the 09, 10 let me know.

 

Mechanically I don't know the difference, but since this topic is listed "what is the difference in the 2009 and 2010 lancer gts", I know 2 of the few differences:

1 - the digital display unit for fuel, odometer, etc, in 09 Lancer GTS is Red only, but in the 2010, it is full color.

2 - The 2010 models have the heigh-adjustable headlights.

Sorry I don't have an answer for your fuel-efficiency question.

 

um... maybe the ACS system keep some weight to the car... ^^" the ACS comes standard to 2010 but 2009 don't have that at all....

 

Maybe transmisson gearing was changed?

yea it's now the stock Ralliart taillight...^^

 

i kinda like the red outer bits of it once i see all the ones with black. and the color display is distracting at night

 

on mitsubishis website it lists the fuel economy with a footnote. foot note reads "epa tested....for lancer models with ASC" so im guessing its the ASC that is bumpin up the mpg.

 

the 2010 2.4 Gts are now PZEV.

 

maybe the price?
