HELP! finally getting new rims. fitment and tire question.

finally found someone whos selling konig heatsink and now im just wondering if it fits. here are the specs.

18x7.5x5x100or5x114.3 the offset is 45mm i have no knowledge when it comes to wheels and tires coz im a noob at this. also im wondering about what kind of tires should i get. my lancer is my daily driver and i just want it to look different. i dont want really really thin tires coz i drive a lot but i dont want it too thick that it wouldnt look like my wheels are custom. oh and i forgot to mention, i also dropped my car with tein s techs. someone help me pls

The tire's sidewall thickness depends more on what wheel size you choose than it does on personal tire preference. As your prefered wheel size increases, your sidewalls should get thinner to keep the overall diameter as close as possible to the original diameter. This is so your speedometer doesn't get thrown off.

A good way to choose wheel size is to research what certain sizes look on other people's Lancers. Granted that they got the correct size (most reputable shops won't up-size incorrectly, unless you intentionally ask them to and sign something voiding tire warranty and releasing them from responsibility). When looking at other Lancers and also take into account if they have a drop or not versus whether your car has been dropped or not. What looks good on a lowered car can look wild-west wagon wheel-like on the same car at stock ride height. As for the offset, maybe someone with the new-gen Lancer can chime in about that. It sounds safe, maybe non-flush, but safe. But I own the previous generation, so that's just a generalization. My 2003 has 40 offset 5zigens and it sits nice, but I could probably add 5mm spacers (in effect reducing offset) and still not need to roll the fenders. But like I was saying, its the previous gen, and basically a totally different car. I was just using it as an example to show how I was judging the offset.

With tires, I've had good grip and long wear on Kumhos and Yokohamas. Tire Rack usually has good deals on both. Whatever you get, the name of the game is "research." Good luck

Offset is one of those seemingly "bass ackward" automotive things. As offset increases, the wheel sticks out more from the car. Just to give you an example, cars that are "hella flush" (google it) often have a low offset (sometimes zero offset). I can't explain why because I honestly just know the concept.

Offset is an indication of where the mounting point for the wheel is relative to the geometric center of the wheel. If the mounting point is outwards from the center line, it's given a positive number. If it's inwards relative to the center line, it's given a negative number (like wheels with massive lips). Thus a higher offset wheel (say +48) will sit further inward than one with a lower offset (say +30).

this might help but you need to know your stock wheel offset should be stamped on the inside somewhere
