Same thing happens to me and the gf as well. It gets pretty annoying after a while but I'm getting used to it.

I deosn't do it for me but I heard bad story about that. Often young people get burned by fuel while filling there car because when they get out of the car they don't touch the car (like old people have to hold the door or the car body to get out easily). And when they start to fill there car the static can cause and explosion. Actually I believe that this could happen but it most not be common (1 chance on 1000000 maybe?). The moral of this story is to alway touch you're car before filling it

Lol, I assume everyone touches the car, since you close the door behind u, and open the gas door before filling lol

To prevent getting shocked, touch something metal in the car before stepping out and grounding yourself.

You mean you just rub one out and you're good to go?

my car shocks the hell out of me, but its because I abuse her sometimes... it's a love hate thing.

You gotta rub both hands on your pants. Works like a charm.
