Diesel Lancer

This might be a long shot but does anyone have any info on the diesel lancer?

things I'm curious about are

what is the engine code?

what is the transmission code?

I've read that VW makes the 2L tdi for mitsu but have never herd of this mysterious 6speed manual which is included.

Other then Europe was there any other country's this model was sold in?

any other random info is appreciated as well, cant seem to find a whole lot around.

Did some more reading around and also looks like the outlander has what looks like 3 diesel engine variants which is interesting as well.

There are diesel lancers that come diesel from the factory. They are 08+ and you can usually tell by the FMIC on them. (only in the uk/austrailia i think)

Here is one member on here that has one, they are called DiD models.

Ive actually driven one in europe. A lot of low end grunt as expected, but it wasnt any faster to 100 than a 2.0 petrol. However a reflash would REALLY open that car up. And with just bolt ons ur looking at a 7 sec 0-100 car easy.

how was the engine noise.. I was reading and reviews said its quite a noisy engine.. also was said to be not so great.

I think this would be a cool swap for us north americans.. I'm also interested in the outlander diesel variants..

still no info on this random 6 speed tho..

would be sweet to find a uk or aussi service manual on this.

Its not that noisy... a little more than a 4B11, but diesels usually are (some people are just ****). As for the gearbox it is indeed a 6 speed and im pretty sure that it is a VW one as well sourced from the golf.

As for NA, I dont think it will work there too well. Isnt your diesel insanely expensive or something? Maybe its just regular diesel price and ur used to dirt cheap petrol lol.
