'08 Evo X MR SST
I'm looking at buying an '08 Evo X MR as a daily (will be doing some km's). After doing a bit of research I've noticed that the earlier model evo's have some troubles with the SST gearbox.
What are the common issues that arise with this gearbox? What sort of coin to fix or replace? Are there any mods that can sort out the issues?
I only plan on doing mild mods if that, and would rarely take it to the track as I have another car for that.
Cheers!
PS. No I don't want to buy a manual

here are a couple links that might give you a bit more insight.

I have about 75k miles on my MR and just recently started noticing some clutch slip. I would like to track the car but don't want to have any problems with the transmission so I am going to do the full rebuild. I don't know what shipping would be like from Australia but maybe there is a shop in Australia that can do something similar. If you aren't going to be too rough on the car you may not need to do anything except possibly replace the clutch if it goes out at some point.

i just bought a 08MR too, it seems they dont have too many problems, it is a really good tranny, works superb even in fully auto mode. The cluthes should theoretically last ~160,000 miles with regular driving and fluid changes on stock car, but maybe that's alittle too optimistic and probably nobody has hit that mark yet
