Redvolution how about a review of the experience!?! Do you now officially know the ring? How different is it than GT4 (most peoples reference)?
As I mention on another thread I have a friend starting the school there on Monday

Nevertheless, I feel I'm a solid novice on the 'ring now. I know the line, the bend names in German, and I can identify where the some of the tricky bits are (especially in the wet!!!).
Briefly, we rented a BMW 118d (wish they had a 130i - alas). It was slow but a great tool for learning. I haven't played GT4 since returning but the game only really helps one get a feel for the next section coming up. Details and actual turn in points are not always applicable.
As you mentioned, the bumps and the elevation really don't come through at all in the game. An instructor ride in a Cayman S down through Fuchsrohre was pretty eye opening. I can only imagine what it's like on race tires!!! Eschbach and the fast right before Schwalbenschwanz consistently gave me the most trouble.
For all those swooning over Sabine - she's married.
