just bumping for one thought ive been having - at what point do you need brake ducting? obviously the answer can be a simple, it can only help, never hurt, but --
i feel like with my setup, i should not "need" to do brake ducting. i'm ~300whp, doing hpdes, with appropriate pads, evo x brakes & rotors (larger), titanium shims (that don't bend anymore), vented pistons, high temp seals. i'll be primarily racing on a course that is not known for "testing brakes" -- this will be my first time on track on this new setup, and i'm confident that without ducting, my brakes will be fine, and ducting should be for the 350whp, 400whp guys, more dedicated track cars, etc. vs my stock boost evo.
again, i realize that ducting will always be better than not, but is every evo out there that is doing weekend track days running ducting?

Track driving requires different pads than autocross, where you aren't running more than two minutes at a time with plenty of down time in between. The brakes never get much hotter than hard street driving.
