Before I sell this, the RS trunk bar is not legal for anything other than an RS, in STU, right?

14.2.G
G. Strut bars (per Section 12) are permitted with all types of suspen-
sion, subject to the following constraints:
1. a two-point strut bar may be added, removed, modified, or substi-
tuted, but only with another two-point strut bar.
2. A triangulated (3-point) strut bar may be removed, modified, or
substituted; substitution may be with either a triangulated or a two-
point strut bar. The connection to the chassis (i.e., firewall, bulk-
head, etc) must be in the standard location.
3. Lower suspension braces must be attached to the lower suspen-
sion pickup point locations on the chassis within 2 inches (2”, 50.8
mm) in any direction of the actual suspension attachment to the
chassis.
4. Except for standard parts, no connections to other components
are permitted.
Additional holes may be drilled for mounting bolts. Only bolt-on at-
tachment is permitted. Interior trim panels may be modified to allow
installation of strut bars. Holes or slots may be no larger than nec-
essary and may serve no other purpose. This does not permit any
modifications to the frame or unibody beyond the allowed mounting
holes.
Since it's in the trunk and not near a suspension mounting point, my guess is that it's illegal.. just wanted to be sure.

(I'm keeping the strut tower brace itself, just selling the rest of the "cage")

thanks
john

Looking forward to this coming STU season. I've been running the Star Specs with fantastic results but I'm thinking of giving the Hankook RS3s a shot just for comparison. I've never run anything different so itll be an adventure.

Anybody going to give the new Falken Azenis compound a whirl this yr? We are going to be using them on our ChumpCar as an experiment but I'm not brave enough to put em on my STU car just yet.

Also when it comes the the WedsSport TC105N wheels does anybody know the correct offset for ideal fitment on our cars so we can avoid spacers and caliper issues? 17x9 with +25? +35? FF? FR?

Toothy07 I am running the Wedsports TC105Ns 17x9 with 35mm offset. You will NEED a 3mm spacer on the front only to clear the brake caliper. Other than that they have been fabulous light wheels!

Below is a picture of my car with TC105N's. By coincidence, just today I decided to sell my set since I will be co-driving in ES this year. It is 17x9.5 +32, fits with space to spare without any spacers or fender rolling. In my opinion this is the perfect size and offset for an STU Evo. A lot of people commented at last Nationals that my car looked the fastest around the showcase curve, which probably explains how I can do reasonably well with no power mods. If interested send me a PM. More pictures at the link below.

The DC region season doesn't start til the 27th but I got to give the car its first autox event last weekend up at New Jersey Motorsports Park. It was essentially stock (clutch, flywheel, motor mounts... I wouldn't consider any of those as upgrades except maybe the flywheel) with Evo8 wheels that had four year old RE-01Rs on em.

The car was a total blast even with stock suspension and stock power and tires that have spent the last two years in a garage. I can't believe how good, and especially how balanced, these cars are out of the box. I ended up with the 7th fastest raw time out of 58 which was a surprise.

Stock clutch/flywheel/motor mounts go in next week, then the STU bits can begin... very psyched

I am being told that these are legal for stu and that that rule is talking about the struts not the ball joints. Any other help would be great. Trying to get the car ready.
