Video of SCCA T2 National Championship

You'll have to jump to the 198.00 mark to get to the T2 race. I started the race on rain tires so once the track dried up I slipped back a little. I was pretty sure the rain would start at some point during the race....and finally it did
Thanks to AMS, TRE, UCS, Hoosier, JRZ and Carbotech.

Thanks for the link! Great driving once again Marty. It was fun watching you dice with the mustang, swapping paint a few times. Good strategy and good for you for staying on the painted part.

The part where 4 cars went off that one corner with the emergency vehicle on track was absolutely nuts. Can't believe that truck was parked at the worst possible place. Im surprised he was taken out by the cars understeering to the sandtrap.

Do you happen to have any in-car video?

Funny how they kept saying "Well with that All Wheel Drive" "that all wheel drive is saving his race" "Marty Grand again can find grip in that AWD" Then the interview he kept trying to get "yes I have AWD it's a cheater in these conditions" out of ya, when all it comes down to is TIRES lol. Great run and race craft buddy

Great drive. A couple of nice 4-wheel drifts as well. One of the more enjoyable races I've watched this year. Big congrats, Marty. Way to represent.

Thanks, and yes they are, I never thought I'd like a Mustang but I really like this one. Hopefully the SCCA will let me enlarge my restrictor after seeing how fast the Mustangs and Porsches were compared to the Evo. I talked to one of the Mustang drivers who told me he was hitting 150mph on the front straight, I hit 142 there. The T2 Mustangs are also allowed to run the Gt350 suspension and brake package. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...-gt350-package

BTW, my new best qual time at Road America is 2.29.0 which is 1.1 seconds quicker than I went last year.

Sweet! Great video coverage too.

The announcers have a super FAIL though as usual. Not knowing the difference between a Nissan and Porsche ever. And I can't believe they managed to say 4WD and AWD even more than in 2010! Congrats.

So do they have to tear into your Evo again this year?

Well done! It took a while for the guy that interviewed you to figure out that you were on rain tires and that your strategy paid off! I'd be be complimenting you on your whether forecasting/prognostication as well as your driving skills!!

Curious if there are any folks that you race with that also run NASA? I don't see many crossover cars from SCCA at NASA events in the Great Lakes Region...

Are the rules/classes just too different?

Yes, they tore my engine apart again, even more than last year. I even had to remove the cams from the head so they could plut them in some new cam measuring machine. You name it it was measured. It might be time to refresh the motor anyways after 25k mostly track miles.

As for NASA im not sure, but most of the top drivers seem to still prefer SCCA.
