Thanks for the response heel2toe you are 100% correct.
Sad news to report. I was getting the car ready to hit the dyno last week and upon changing the oil I noticed a lot of metallic and some metal shavings in the oil. I am still trying to determine the cause. I was pushing to run ButtonWillow in November but due to time and money that will not be happening (running my little miata in street class though). I will tear the motor down this winter and build a 2.2 or 2.3. Im pretty gutted as I have been busting my *** to finish up the car.
Side note I got all the fenders painted and she is looking awesome!

Definitely go with a 94mm crank. 100mm and track abuse doesn't mix.

Just read all 48 pages, damn that took a while, but well worth it. Was really looking forward to your trans temp testing.
Sorry to hear about the bad news, but I'll say if I were in your shoes I'd be happy how long the engine lasted with how hard of a life it's lived. And considering that it wasn't a catastrophic failure, most of the major components can be reused if desired.

The RS motors guys are doing some work on a crankshaft solution that doesn't break. (Not that it's your issue, just something to check into on the new build).

Anyone know anything about Magnus stroker kits?

Can you use 156mm rods on a 2.2? Thats what I currently have?

You can't use the 156mm rods with a 94mm crank in the 4g63 block, the compression height of the piston gets too short. Need to use a 153mm rod. English racing can set you up with a rotating assembly. They have had good luck with the Eagle forged cranks, and K1 billets. They use Carillo rods and Wiseco custom pistons to their specs.

We had to the best luck with long term high RPM/power use with the 2.2l setup at English Racing. I would definitely recommend this option if you are going to invest in another engine.

Should definitely be running E85 or race fuel if you plane to make 400+ for track use. My car has done well at 430ish for the last 4 track days. Oil and water temps kept in check with upgraded cooling likely helps a lot.

It is me again. Welp not a lot has happened since last post but some progress has taken place. Buttonwillow GTA Super Lap Battle was an absolute blast. I definitely had the least HP out of all 80+ cars maybe 100hp to the wheels haha (wasn't the slowest either). It was a great opportunity for me to run laps and learn the track as I have never been there. When I take the Evo back I feel confident to rip some fast laps right away.
Finally got the energy to drop the motor in the Evo this week and start tear down. Looks like number 4 bearing was starting to go and source of the metal. Piston 3 had some weird wear on the 2nd ring.
I am still trying to figure out what path I wanna go with rebuild...... Still leaning towards a 2.2. As like every build the list keeps growing. I wanna send the transfer case out for a refresh, rebuild clutch, new front subframe and so on and so on.
