I dont think rallying the lancer would be much at all considering its lack of power and the fwd. just my opinion...

the fastest cars were low powered fwd cars
old fwd celica, a focus, a se-r, and a gti.
2 weeks ago there was a taurus, and 2 civics running
power doesn't really matter..it's all driver talent.

Really what is the point of getting a sporty car and not pushing it to it's limits
Oh..I can drive...I was faster than every wrx, fun beating cars with a 70hp adv, a rear lsd, and a 5spd.

after all the bull**** I have read in this thread,here is my facts. I have been doing some track days with my oz rally. The last time out the lancer was THE FASTEST CAR!!! About 30 cars turned up including mustangs camaros bmw hondas porsches etc. Most of these guys got very pissed off being passed by a lancer. Why was the lancer faster??? On a track power is useless if the car doesnt stop well and handel well. the lancer is very light which equates to good going,stopping and cornering which covers it all. I have less than $1000 in mods in the car. coil overs ,poterfield brake pads, exhaust, cold air box made from cat litter bucket ,front alignment changes and a little weight loss. I also use kuhmo ecsta 712s which I found outstanding for a street tire!!! I guess the moral is SIZE DOESNT MATTER,ITS WHAT YOU CAN DO WITH IT!!!! 
I only wish there had been some subarus to pass
