Racing as in auto-x, rally-x, track days, etc....
drag racing and street racing don't count.
I see so much talk about how you race and rally them...yet I see no threads about it Does the lancer just suck that bad or are you drivers just that scared to race?

Only teasin'. I gotta find out more about SCCA events in the area...tryin' to get my friend to autox his stock 93 Legacy L with me and my other friend to take his stock '02 focus. Need a helmet, right?

I really wanna get my suspension done before I compete, but we'll see. No way in hell I'm stripping my car. I'm gonna compete, but I don't think I'll be competition if you catch my drift.

EDIT: A set of autox wheels would be nice too. Some fairly wide 15"s or 16"s with a nice set of Kumho Ecstas. need another grand before I get that goin' though.

Oh? I've heard nothing but "good for the money" reviews from friends...and money is an issue. A big one.

712s are ****...not worth the money. they are horrible for any racing. all they do is squeal and chunk. guess i'll take a pic to show you why they suck. plus they overheat and get all slippery too easily. they work pretty well in the dirt though

B, Ill be able to tell ya how the ol OZ fares in autox competition after Sunday. Im doing a local event in Akron Ohio. All thats done to the car is a set of Eibacks, a trut bar, and an intake. I dont think it will pose any type of threat to the competition, being on stock tires and struts, but hey, at least Ill be having fun. And to those of you who think the Lancer really does handle that badly, try going from a 92 Jeep Wrangler as your car to the Lancer. The Lancer feels like a go-cart, lol.

By the way, if anyone is interested in auto crossing this sunday and lives in Ohio, drop me a line. Be great to have a few Lancers at a Subaru dominated event.

I prefer "personal shopping cart". Try driving one down the isles of a grocery store though.*

*No. Wait. Don't!

<bowing>Oh hail the mighty b_tapper...oh great rally champion

I dont think rallying the lancer would be much at all considering its lack of power and the fwd. just my opinion...

Plus i dont like cleaning my car so rally would be out of the question =P
