Runoffs 2012
Day 1 of quals we are on pole, there are 2 quals to go and the race will be on Sunday on speedcasttv.com at 930 Central. We put in a new motor this year after putting 25k mostly race miles on the old one. Biggest competition is the new Camaro, Mustabg GT and the Porsche 911. cJ is having his borrowed Evo worked on at AMS so he should be ready by tomorrow's qual. We will keep you posted and if you're near Road America stop on by!

Thanks, It was a great race for second anyway! I ran my fastest times ever this year but I just couldnt shake the Porsche enough to go after Don with clean laps. This allowed Don in his Mustang to keep his equipment nice and fresh while I burned mine down trying to hold on to my position. The porsche really out handles and out brakes the Evo so much I just had to go in early on the corners do he wouldnt dive inside of me. Our Top speeds were about the same but I had better scoot out of the corners so it was a pretty good back and forth race. It was a good time for sure and I drove as hard as I ever have in a championship race so I feel pretty satisfied.
My best lap in the race was a 2:28.5 and I was able to run a 2:28.6 on the last lap of the race. A big thanks to AMSPerformance for getting a great tune out of her this year even though we have to run a SCCA mandated 41mm restrictor. Also, all the great support from UCSPerformance, TRE, Hoosier, JRZ and Carbotech.
We will be working on trying to see if we can get the car to go around the carousel better next year to keep that pesky Porsche off our tail! Oh and I got some great footage from my rear facing GoPro camera I will get posted up soon.

OK here is the rear view camera. It will be very apparent how much better the Porsche brakes and handles than my 3480# Evo. The Camaro has huge tires and has much more mechanical grip in the sustained corners as well.

Wow 3500#, must ROAST those a's. I was on 255's last year and corded the fronts after 1 race. Deff pulled on them at corner exit though, by a lot. Is there a generic breakdown of the mods you've installed/permitted to date?
