New Engine Break-In - What are you doing?

I posted this here assuming many of you ar track ******, and prefer engine reliability and longevity over HP numbers. I'm currently rebuilding my motor with fresh parts after 150k. I've read a bunch of different ideas on engine break-in procedures, and oil. With so many of you doing rebuilds in the past year, I'm hoping to hear what your process has been , and what oil you used during break in.

I've also been curious about this stuff...

When my engine was rebuilt my tuner put a 4000 rev limit and ran waste gate pressure for the first 1000 miles and I followed the recommended Mitsubishi break in (look in your drivers manual)

Now over 15k miles later, the engine was still pulling strong with no issues up until I sold it in July. I had to get the car smogged in CA before selling it. The car passed easily with no problems, the emissions values were just as good as new.

Thanks for your reply. Do you recall any oil changes for the 1000 mile break-in process? I'm in the school of 50, 250, 500, and 1000 miles, all with conventional oil.

I changed mine at 500 and 1000 with a fresh filter each time.

I went by AMS suggestions

I used Auto zone conventional oil 10w40 for break in.

Use the break in oil straight 30 weight. Fill at 0 miles drain at 500 run up to 800 or 1000. Drain and put some good synthetic oil in there.
The nicer you seat those rings against the cylinder wall the better reliability out of the motor you get.
