VIDEO: First Place at Extreme Time Attack & Round 8 of 2012 AWD Competition Series
On December 16th at Streets of Willow in Rosamond California, I finished first in Extreme Time Attack Street Class, as well as 1rst at Round 8 of the 2012 AWD Competition Series with a lap time of 1:23.398. It felt good to close out 2012 with a couple of wins.
I had been running consistent mid to high 23's in every session, but was able to crank out a low 23 in the first time attack session. For the second time attack session, the timing file for my run group unfortunately got corrupted. I knew I went fast in that round as well. The next day after I got home, I ended up going over the video footage and timed my laps with a stop watch. I did it five times in a row and it was anywhere from 1:22.8 to 1:23.00.
Either way, my 1:23.398 was good 1rst in ETA Street Class, and 1st in the AWD Competition Series, and also was a new Personal Best on this track and configuration.
This was the final round for the AWD Competition Series, and I ended up finishing 3rd overall for 2012 out of 33 people in street class. I missed 2nd place overall by 5 points, and 1st place by 15 points. Attackthetrack.com wrote a nice article recapping the season in AWD: http://www.attackthetrack.com/season...etiton-series/
