mine's been installed!

https://qlmotorsport.com/2018/03/12/...-sump-evo-8-9/

it clears the stock plastic undertray! It is close to the downpipe, so I'm glad I've gotten mine ceramic coated. It takes about 6 quarts to fill. the drain plug is going to splash all over the subframe brace when draining. It takes a flat 19mm, socket will not get in there (I'm looking at [url=https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-WRN53119-Ratcheting-Combination-Wrench/dp/B01F511QCE/ or [ame]https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-WRN57119-Flex-Head-Ratcheting-Combination/dp/B01F5124ZC/]https://www.amazon.com/TEKTON-WRN53119-Ratcheting-Combination-Wrench/dp/B01F511QCE/ [/ame]
or

- help deciding is appreciated).

Really? I took my plug out today it was a 22mm. And I used a socket because the damn thing was tight...

I was going to ask if anyone knew the size so I could try and order/get one made with a magnet in it. Wonder if he changed the drain plugs.

Edit it looks like its just a different plug he used on yours, flange bolt. Also you have that cross bar going across the bottom of the subframe on your car and I dont.

how did you have space to get to the drain plug? the subframe brace is in the way for me. my shop didn't go super tight on it, i gave it a quarter turn once i got home. thankfully i had a combo 19-21 wrench on hand. yes, i used the 19mm side. i tested fitted with the socket first, but then coudln't fit both the wrench+socket in there

Rob confirmed the size is m18x1.5. Decided to try these guys for a rare earth magnetic drain plug.

is a magnetic drain plug a good idea for the engine? what length? 12 or 21?

DEI Titanium heat wrap I think its called. And sprayed with their black silicone coating.

I ordered the 12 because the one it has now isnt that deep. Though where it is on the pan maybe the 21 would be better to get more penetration into the oil.

good call. i'm not sure 21 is almost an inch (25.4) - not enough space back there including the subframe brace (which you do not have) to remove the bolt and also have even a flat wrench on there to remove the plug. why is the short one blue though?

Marc- how are you planning on monitoring oil temps? With my old setup I has my temp sending unit as my drain plug so my plan was to tap my new plug in a similar fashion. Do you have a seperate bung in your pan or planning on taking it from the OFH or something totally different?

I had Rob add a 3/8 NPT bung just above the drain plug. I just have a plug in it now until I figure out what I want to do for a gauge setup.

Ahhh nice good thinking. See I just assumed I was going to use my drain plug again but now between the bar possibly interfering and wanting a magnet in there I wish I opted for a bung too. Oh well
