Which plug did ya'll decide to get? Not a fan of the blue color or if there's a cheaper one with a stronger mag.

Lol I was kind of thinking the same thing. Although, I'm still going to try and just tap my drain plug for my oil temp sensor in which case I cant use a magnetic drain plug anyway. But it would be nice to have both now that i have my pan and I didnt have Rob weld me in an extra bung, du!

EDIT: Just found this badboy https://www.bavauto.com/ss-m18x1-5

I mean the plug is steel so could always just stick the magnet to it, lol. Unless I have a new bung welded onto my pan for my oil temp sensor I'll be tapping my current plug anyway so I wont be using a magnet sadly.

Wishing I had joined this GB. Why do you suggest a different solution and what other proven solution is there (company name)? Was the GB that big of a savings? This thread is so overwhelming...

There's also this one but you'll have to find two other guys to go in with you: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...t-oil-pan.html. If the pan I'm making doesn't work as well as I hope then I'd be down to join you.

i think in the long run savings from the GB was to a large extent countered by heel2toe having to ship out every individual pan (rob just sent them all to him).

Yeah there was savings but I think it ended up being fairly minimal sadly when it was all said and done. Shipping across the world aint cheap. Plus we all sourced new pans to facilitate things so I suppose if youre on a shoestring budget sending in your own might be better? I tried to bring the cost down but all in all we probably saved about $50, lol!

No i got the standard one. And it wasnt blue.

So far so good. Even got the black-hole oil filter magnets and they are strong enough not to come off while street driving on my stiff *** track suspension.

Does the plug act like it bolts completely down, because it is quite a bit longer than original plug?

I talked to dimple and he recommended using a little tephlon paste to get it to seal?

Really....If he's telling you to put teph on your oil plug, thus assuming it'll get in the oil and elsewhere if you put too much on a longer plug, then they have crap machining. You see this in home plumbing parts then ok, but it has no place in motorsports.
