I'm shooting for street prep. Hopefully running 255/40/17 RE71Rs if they ever go off back order.

Be interesting to see what Maxxis has to offer for their "contingency".

It will be. I'm thinking it will be a free set of tires at the end of the year. I'm interested in seeing how well the tires perform.

I'll be running in Track Modified class on the Maxxis RC-1

How you like the RC1's? I was thinking of trying them once I go through the NT01's I have now.

I'll let you know how I like them after the first Gridlife event on June 10-12. That will be my first time on this tire. Last year I ran the Toyo RA1's and I have never run a Nitto NT01.

I hope the're good tires because they are cheaper than other options. However, We shall see.

FYI- If you get them, they tend to run bigger than RA1. I ran a 275/35 18 in Toyo's and RC-1 ran a bit wider on 265/35 R18.

Damn, that's a wide tire. The Ra1's are already have the standard rcomp wideness like the Nt01's or r888's. Going down a aize and still being wider should really help with grip.

Anotehr debate I've had is moving up to 18's for track tires. Been running 255/40r17's for some time now, but more grip from a bit wider tire would be nice without going to Hoosiers.

They're really just not in the budget right now. They're expensive, and have shorter life. Also, the car needs other upgrades first, mainly: better coilovers (likely ohlins r/t's), and I want to go to 2-piece rotors and stainless steel caliper pistons from racing brake.

18's will make you a bit slower; however, the tire size selection is much better. That is why I'm on 18's.

For brakes, I'd recommend the Essex AP upgrade. Best bang for you buck. Cheaper pads and I went three seasons on the same front rotors. Replaced the rotors, just because.

I've fully upgraded the stock brakes. Two piece rotors, st43s, ss pistons, lines, rbf600, etc, etc. If I could do it all over again I'd have just got the Essex kit. Cheaper and better.

This will be fun meeting some more evom racers.

If anyone is coming through upstate South Carolina on the way down and needs some last minute things taken care of I have a shop in Greenville.

I'll be there too. Planning to run in SM, so I'm going to use a set of 255 RE71s.

Started a roll call on the first post. They want to rope off an 'evo zone' for us lol. So it'd be one of those |_| parking arrangements where the lines are our trailers and we back in in angles inside.

I will be there, coming from Chicago with awdboosted and another friend (non EVO). Will be fun to hang out with the EVO guys.

I will be in street mod running 255/35/18 RE71R's.
