would love to compare your data against mine. see the difference between stock aero higher hp vs aero with lower hp setup. i'm going to VIR for Hyperfest in three weeks.

what's your hp/weight ratio?

My Weight is a little over 3300 lbs (after the race) and I run a completely stock motor with a road racing tune on 100 oct fuel and custom exhaust. I'm around 9/1.

hmm.. 9:1 is last years nasa TT3/ST3 power level. they changed to 10:1 this year. i thought your car would be lighter than that.

I have all the weight I can get out of it under the Touring 2 rules, plus I weigh a tick over 200lbs. Can you tell me how the "HP average" works? I like the sound of it since we have a disadvantage in the SCCA when they talk about peak hp. The Porsche and V8s make way more power over the range than we do (with stock turbo that is). How would I fair in TT3? do the Vettes dominate? Then I can give you a more accurate hp to weight ratio under NASA rules.

ST1/2 is straight division, ST3 (this year) is using the average. Hypothetically, the simplest way is taking your weight 3315 / 9.0 ratio gives you 368 dynojet assuming that's what you're claiming, but 9.0 is last year. Then for this year, Reverse calc is assuming 3315 lbs then (+0.2 for 4 door, +0.4 for stock aero, -0.3 for AWD, nothing for tires since your on 295's, and +0.1 for weight). ST3 numbers 10.0, so 10.0 - 0.3 (adding points) = 9.7. 3315 / 9.7 = 341.75 Average HP dynojet. Now the fun starts with your 50hp printout from AMS's dynojet and fill in the numbers (assumptions here)

368 peak
-500 rpm = 350
-1000 rpm = 330
-1500 rpm = 310
368 peak + 990 (adding above) / 4 = 339 average hp. Rules say you can have 341 so....you'd be right on the money.

For ST2 it's 8.0 - 0.0 since aero doesn't count for those classes, 3315 / 8.0 = 414 peak hp, no average but it may go that way in 2017.

Thanks, i'll have to find my dyno sheet but your pretty darn close with your assumptions. That is a complicated formula but well worth it to us Evo guys.

the new average HP rule for ST3/TT3 will benifit the small displacement NA cars more. they have peak power but nothing much in the mid range. the v8 guys would detune to make flat power from mid to peak. same with turbo cars, for the lower class with smaller turbo.

my car makes flat 320 whp (mustang) from 4500-7500 rpm, so my peak hp is my average hp

not sure if vettes will be able to detune to 10:1 this year to stay in ST3/TT3

That's a lot of tire, they finally put the T2 Vettes on 295s but the very light Porsches still get to run "whatever they can fit" which means 315s on the rear and I believe 295s on the front.
