Almost $300 per ring isn't the most exciting thought. Earlier this week I was scrubbing the inside of the hats with some scotchbrite since there was some corrosion from the hubs on the mounting surface. Looks like they got chewed up a bit from the corrosion. Has anyone ever run a corroded rotor hat like this? I'm debating having them skimmed with a lathe to make it a true surface again.

mine look much worse and work perfectly.. one word of warning, I had to buy some new bolts because I couldnt get all of them off.. that was rather expensive..

but they do look lovely with new rotors..

Yea I hate that they use those tri wing style bolts. Super annoying.

DBA says in their replacement instructions that bolts are okay to reuse but the nuts must be replaced since they're 1 use locking nuts. I was looking at the prices of those bolts and yea I hope all mine will come out without fuss haha

The torque fluid was the first fluid i’ve used where I could go at least four track days wihout doing a “maintenance “ bleed between events. Was worth every penny, really hoping this prospeed stuff is the same

got it. again though the wet boiling point seems relatively low compared to other stuff, but that shouldn't be a problem should it?

I know a little off topic but since we are talking Evo X brakes, has anyone used the MACH V Evo X 2 piece rotor rings? They appear to be the most cost effective of the OEM 2 piece rotor ring options.

Hello everyone, hope all is going well. I am a newer member to the forum and have been following this thread for a minute as I am very interested in the Evo X Caliper and Rotor upgrade as I am prepping my car for Nasa TT.

I do have a question. I am currently running 17x9 Team Dynamics wheels with 255/40/17 Nitto NT01's on them. If I upgraded, what are some 18" wheel/ tire combos that will clear the Evo X caliper and rotor (prefer to run without spacers, fenders are rolled)??

Dont be so quick to thing spacers are a bad thing. To have an aggressive (wide) setup on the evo and be able to rotate (same offset front/rear), a front spacer is absolutely needed. But as for what fits the EvoX calipers, are they any harder to fit than IX? RPF1 in 18s may be tight in the 10" width but narrower have better caliper clearance. Enkei PF01 18x10.5 will clear anything.

spacers are pretty much a must if you dont want to spend a fortune on wheels that will give you the correct offset and be able to rotate tires front and rear. i ran rpf1 18x10 with hoosier 275/35/18 with just slightly rolled rear quarters. just make sure you use pass through spacers with arp extended studs. don't use bolt on spacers. i've used spacers on my track car for 8 years. even pro race teams use spacers.

Thank you for the response, never said spacers were bad, I am new to Evo's coming from a Lotus Exige S. Just trying to gather some information. I realize if I upgrade, I have to sell my current wheels and tires, thus I am losing all reference to my car and what fits on it. I don't have enough knowledge/ time working on it to know what the wheel/ tire limits are of my car as it sits currently. Thank you again for your time.

Thank you for the response. I do agree, spacers are probably the better option as I don't want to spend money I don't have too. I am well aware race teams use them, just trying to gather reference to what others have done so I can try to gauge where my car is at and what options I have. Cheers.

i'm running volk ce28n in 18x9.5 +34. they fit & clear brakes. anything decently wide, ie 9.5, is going to require rear fender roll.

these wheels are out there but not produced anymore so can be a little difficult to find.

I have the Evo X brake upgrade on my Evo 9, and this past weekend I ran the Hoosier R7 245/35/18 on an Enkei NT03+M 18x9.5 +27 wheel ($1100 a set and hard to beat for the price and weight) and only needed a small 5 mm spacer in the front to clear the caliper. As mentioned it will be hard to run a square setup and not require a spacer in the front. Also send me a message if you are interested in joining a Facebook group where we discuss all things NASA TT/ST and Evos.
