2017 wrc
In 2017 the WRC rules will be a bit more looser on the cars performance. Bigger restrictor and more aero allowed etc. There for the cars will be faster, now they start coming out of the shops for testing, and you can see them. Some way they start reminding me the group B area.
The cars today already faster then Group B, but this 2017 will bring a whole new level of speed.
Cant wait to see the season, and hopefully USA follows the more liberal rules on power/aero so I can gain some straight line speed and some cornering (225 max tires sucks in other competitions like hill climbs or road race) Rally cars feel really slow in straights with 315 hp and 3300 lbs weight lol
Hope that will change
Here is a 2017 Fiesta WRC test. Tanak

Starting to look more and more like matchbox and less like their street counterparts lol
Gone are the glory days of having to homologate by selling thousands of street cars (which brought us the Evo/STI, Delta Integrale, etc)
With all the aero treatment, seems some aspects of history is repeating itself ala GrP B.

Renault too... , sooo french. they couldnt understand the japan cars. LOL
Germans and Italians has a little to nothing to do with it.
They cut of the Mitsubishi head when they forced them into the WRC category and dropped the group A.
But they couldnt push them out for long from group N and Mitsubishi was still the king there.
which lot less support and a bit lesser drivers , Mitsubishi was still in the fist 10 mix always with they Group N cars
It is border line miracle what Mitsubishi did with they group N cars. If you go deeper into it.
Also Subaru, but Subaru for they plus, did translated they cars a lot better to the WRC group.
Although in my opinion they still couldnt really be as good as the EVo in Group N.
this is just a beauty, and a very good commentary etc.

It is all deppends on my job mainly.
I work for a very high level architectural art and design company in NYC as a lead artist.
Since the company is no1 or N02 ( deppends who you ask) in a world, we do lots of travel jobs.
Company is also very exclusive.
Now this is sounds great and all, but I do ending up basically hopping from country to country.
Many times I just been sended over see projects in other countries.
There for my time around my cars are very limited.
To do rally is a work, getting ready etc, never mind the practice. We got super busy latelly and I really can't do rally.
That is a back ground. I prefer doing 2 3 rallys a year and probabaly 2 Hill climbs. That would be my favorite set up.
But I usually ending up doing 1 2 rally and couple if hill climbs yearly.
This year... I dont think I even had a chance to do one rally yet. I just got invited to ESPR, but right now I am SF tomorrow I will fly to Hawaii, then back to LA, then Germany Munich, so this year most likely I will not have any chance to run a rally. I do really hope next year there is a new rally organization starts, and I can run like 3 events with them.
I hope I give enough info what's happening and why.
Thanks for asking.

More sponsors and more rallies = more fun, friends, and money for everyone. Right?
