Yes, you are wrong!

As he said, you can cut them to fit larger tires! How do you think we were able to run 285 on 2G DSM??

Pulling and cutting fenders is all totally legal for ASP. Its STU the fender outside profile has to remain stock. Cant do inner fender well stuff, but the rule says something specific about outside of hub face.

Well, this is definitely not the first and last time I've been wrong!

So to clarify my mods:
Ohlins
Exhaust from the 02 housing back
No tune/no increased boost
18x10.5" /285mm hoosiers
Rear adjustable LCA's
Rear adjustable Toe arms
Cut and pulled rear fenders

This is an ASP car? Well damnit, I've been making it harder on myself than I should have been, thinking it was an SM car! hahaha

An ASP car you can do more power mods. Intake, fuel pump, injectors, boost control, E85, clutch, etc...

The AX guys will need to say if the adjustable control arms are legal. But I'm pretty sure they are since they don't change geometry.

Need OEM control arms on mac strut but multi-link I believe can change one arm for adjustability. Like a GTR could do an upper or lower arm to gain camber adjustment. I assume that would mean you could do one of the arms on the evo, but not multiple.

I think the trailing arm is not ok though since Marshal still has it on their car. Need to re-read the rules though..

Awesome, I'll definitely have to look into some bolt ons then in the near future!!

When you're talking about multple arms, are you just referencing ones that allow camber adjustment? (So I'd be ok with the aftermarket toe arms)

Thanks!

Here's a pretty awesome shot of the evo in action from the weekend:

I'm also guessing my "shaved" rear trailing arms are probably illegal, to help fit the 18x10.5" +30 NT03's?

bumping a topic on torrington bearings - as long as i dont change preload on the spring or the length adjustment from the bottom, these won't change ride height any, correct? likewise, a taller or shorter spring would not change ride height either, as long as the actual distance between the perches doesn't change?

Correct, as long as you don't change the amount of preload on the spring and don't change the height adjustment on the mounting body your ride height and corner balance won't change.

got it, thanks. i confused myself thinking about setting it at the top, and while i'll still put it at the top i thought about what it would do if i added it to the bottom, and the answer seemed clear to be nothing, aside from dropping the locking rings of the bottom of the spring perch by the same amount the torrington bearings would add

Did an autocross on Sunday. Car did really well despite the lack of grip from the RE11's. Had a lot of fun throwing the car around. Suspension was very good. Had to run the ER ACD tune in the middle setting to calm the car down a bit on corner exit...lol

sounds pretty stinking fun! what size wheels/tires? IIRC we had a similar setup suspension & drivetrain-wise (but not power)

okay guys - i ordered this set of torrington bearings:

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/upi-7917-101

and they do NOT fit on the ohlins dfv. the two flat plates fit fine but the bearing itself is just too tight on the ID - i tried to force the issue, and:

,000 - ,000 Coilovers. Let's discuss.-q9lslrb.jpg

anyone know what size will actually fit the ohlins? it's like millimeters off

the tolerance is super tight. the two "washers" on either side of the bearing fit - hell, one of the broken sides of the bearing fits. but one single one does not. same for the other one of the pair of torrington bearings i bought. i think 65mm = 2.56" and these are 2.5" is what is causing the difference

looks like i will have to go with swift's thrust washers (http://www.swiftsprings.net/products...rsal/misc.html) for 65mm - they list them as fitting 2.56" and that's pretty much what i need. idk how you guys fit the torrington bearing part onto the suspension but mine are not going on. for those of you that used the thrust washer, did you use grease?
