I am impressed... as a matter of fact I am envious of anyone with acces to 3 axis CNC machine or more..

when machininh that piece... take great care about the depth of the recess for the georotor as the depth of that hole is the only thing that dictates the clearences.

No need for any steel inserts.. as a matter of fact the internal pump system never corrodes.. it is the outer part that does and then "swells up " the pump leading to loose clearences and no pressure..

So are you a machinist by trade? Seems like a costly route to go vs sourcing a used pump. Nonetheless, badass!
Yes. I didn't want to drop $600 on used pump that might or might not work. When you have all the tools at your disposal, it's only a matter of finding the time. I may end up sourcing a used one if I can't get this part to work. I think I only have two blanks to work with.

I have access to machines with 9 different axes , but unfortunately those machines are pretty busy right now.

If I remember correctly the gerotor and sits about .001" below the surface.

I was thinking about using stainless hardware to help alleviate some the corrosion issues.

in my parts kit that pump plate that sits between two parts of the pump was made out of stainless and works well.. I used 12.9 bolts because I dont like stainless ones but I guess those will work too.

the corrosion on the bolts and other parts we usually solve with generous ammounts of heavy grease... In fact, if mitsubishis pump supplier used a bit of grease in assembly we would never had these problems.

Well I have an autoclave in my basement big enough to possibly fit a splitter. I keep kicking this idea down the road, and I guess I will see if you guys think it is worth it...

carbon fiber brake ducts

1.) take a pool noodle and jam large diameter copper wire down the center hole
2.) shape the pool noodle for the required brake path ducting
3.) wrap pool noodle in clear packing tape
4.) carbon wrap and vac-form around the pool noodle
(i might be low on epoxy. I think I have enough carbon cloth)
5.) acetone melt the pool noodle
6.) pull out copper shaping rod

With this design the smooth sexy side of the carbon is on the INSIDE... But this is about function not form. I am thinking that I would need more epoxy now that I am thinking about this again....

Not all ducts fit alike, unless you're talking about making block off plates with integrated ducts....then you have my attention

Block off the factory fog area (killing air to coolers?) Where are you talking about?

Roll around autoclave for carbon/fiber parts.

A local shop in Vegas was a direct CSF dealer. Talked to Mike on the phone, he called CSF and got back to me quickly today. Rad is on backorder, expected to be in stock mid may. He put it on his site so I could order it. Placed my order. Now I wait lol.

That's kinda custom. I'd REALLY like to have a fan/shroud for mine, though. The stock one weighs a ton LOL

dallas designed these guy for his BA front end and needed to make them out of metal. laser cut and hand formed. they dont look too complicated but if you've ever worked with metal you'll appreciate the complexity of going from a round to oval in such short distance haha

Those turned out super cool but yeah, total pita to make with traditional methods. Not enough volume to really tool something unless I soft tool with aluminum forms. For anyone the guys with my uprights that want ducting, these guys certainly aren't cheap yet but they "can" be made.

Nolij, being the first guy to but a set of uprights and a track guy who actually needs these will get a set for testing and Carl aka Meathooker aka EvoBro (one of..) in his hill climb car.

I want those uprights. Paired with ceramic wheel bearings, and EvoX calipers. Would be such an amazing setup!
