All the electric brakes Ive seen in OEM cars engage/disengage too slowly. Have you seen some or have a link for something that acts faster?

Ah, I wasn't aware that was the problem. I though it was an issue of having to press or flip the switch, as opposed to just releasing it.


My mom had a 2008 Passat back in the day, it seemed to release quickly the one time I experimented with pushing it at 45mph to see if I could spin the car out with it...LOL.

electric brakes use a small electric motor so those are slow as hell...

if only someone could write a different ABS ecu software and then ABS could activate the rear brakes on a push of a button..

my understanding was abs could pulse the pressure provided by driver - not provide its own pressure (ie stopping power). is that correct?

I dont know about the ABS unit in the evo, but modern ABS units can provide pressure and lock the wheels by itself.. that is how the panic stop and hill holder systems work..

Also how modern stability control works. The ABS module can apply braking to one wheel at the command of the stability control system.

Euro cars had it when our cars came out. Not sure if the mitsu ABS module can be made to do it though.

I got the new CNC up and going so to get acclimated to its differences I made up a few sets of these 20mm offset top plates.

In my personal stash, I have 0mm, 15mm, 20mm, and 30mm offset plates. Excessive? Maybe . The 20mm being machined I can fit a flat head screw (unfortunately 1.5mm pitch instead of OEM 1.25mm though, 1.25 doesn't exist in flat head). That means I can get the caster and max out the camber without having to shave the bearing housing like I did with the 15mm offset.

These are the final version Im sticking with and really happy with them after all the iteration. They're excessive than just basic 1/4" water jet plate, but they are cooler

did I mention that ABS could be used on some cars to lock rear wheels instead of handbrake..

truth be told, I do use the handbrake (but not much) when we drive in snow, so I could see it being usefull on the focus RS..

That's awesome. Would def be fun to play with that. And then go to Ford and they deny your warranty claim for "abusive driving"

Yep, I sell most of the things. I just have to be carefull Im not advertising here and just stick to answering direct questions. Still working on updating my website and will get prices on there soon for all my stuff but it will always be individual sales cause just a side hobby for me.

On the top of what Im making, I have material on the way to make the V2 uprights in a short version. These are 1.25" of offset for the street guys or shorter wheels. Also have a EvoX upright on the way to get the ABS measurements and make couple sets for those. Have 2 guys asking specifically so time to start making something for "those" guys.

I should also start looking at making a 3/4" longer control arm for the EvoX and widebody 8/9 guys. Shouldn't be a hard change but do need to do some FEA checks and the steering angle fit checks.
