Out of the shop $3000 later

I learned so much from you guys and appreciate all your replies. Never diagnosed actual problem, but hope these changes fixed whatever it was. Just got car back.

Threw the kitchen sink at the fuel, ignition, and tune:
* partnered with Deatschwerks and got two 350 fuel pumps (on surge tank)
** still internal Walboro 450 that fills external surge tank
* 4 Deatschwerks 2200 injectors
* Fuel Injector Clinic fuel rail (replaced OEM)
* SparkTech Ignition COP (replaced OEM)
* switched to air density
* new tuner at AP Racing in Tulsa
* Hob switch to kick on 2nd external pump at 1 pound boost
* larger main fuel line
* tons of -AN fittings etc...
* now tuned at 28psi low boost & 34psi spike high boost
** Car spun all 4 wheels (1st, 2nd, 3rd on quick test hit. (street tires/cool temps)

Car was previously tuned at 28 & 30psi wt 575awhp/500tq.
I assume a little improvement, but no dyno measures yet.

I have no idea if my gas mileage on this set up will last a 20 minute session. 2 day track event this weekend. Hope to have great news!

I became a Deatschwerks dealer if anybody is interested. Google them to learn more.

Absolutely wasted your money on a dual pump setup and the associated additional wiring and plumbing, . Especially because DW claims the new 350 out flows the Walbro 450hp pump..

But I hope it works.

I'm sure I did. I'm good at that, however, my last dyno results were indicating I only had enough fuel for 575hp. At least now, I have room to get more if desired. Too, I like to have more than enough of everything rather than max anything out. We felt I was maxing out fuel pump and ignition.

I believe it's the DW400 that they are making that claim about

Post MSR Track Day, all the Over-The-Top fuel and ignition upgrades didn't hurt. Set a new personal best at MSR Cresson 3.1 mile course. But, had to trouble shoot a similar/exact problem......which ofcourse was the only pump we didn't upgrade....the internal fuel Walboro had gone bad and blown a fuse. Uhhhhh....

How did it going bad blow a fuse? Did it run higher amps than normal or something?

using 450 as a lift pump is a waste of amps... find a low pressure high flow pump, or two of them.. for my lift pump duties I use 2-3 Amp 190 lph pumps....

Good idea using low amp high pressure in-tank pump. Might have to rethink that. Ended up with a 250 Walboro, but still high pressure.

My extreme blow bye issue really has become a majore problem. Until address this, nothing else really matters with the car. My FP red is leaking possibly from all the blow bye. Nothing a new engine can't fix I guess.

Did you do a leakdown test? Your engine may not be in as bad of shape as you think.

First of all. Blow by issue, major problem.

Now that we have that settled.. What do you mean? are you getting a ton of oil in something? what thing? Do you have a proper breather set up?

Also, you never answered my question about you blowing a fuse because of a bad pump.

blown fuse and bad internal pump found at same time. At track when discovered. Not sure why or when, but replaced pump and fuse and all was good. I presume based on looking at pump it shorted the fuse.

As for blow bye - major issue. I have bandaided this with 2 catch cans. Primary has one way valve back into dipstick/oil pan. The overflow goes to the overflow can. After 15 minute track time, I drain the overflow can. About 1/4 quart of e85 with less oil. This has been steady since bought car.

Last track event, with boost up, I was low 2 quarts after 15 minutes. Then 3 quarts then next session. I always start 1/2 quart above top notch on dipstick and have the AMS oil pan. Parked it after this much loss and pulling head to investigate.

A cold compression test shows cylinder one 20 out of spec with others. Would prefer a hot compression. But still, looking at piston ring first.

Thoughts?

2 quarts a session!??!?! That's almost half your oil capacity. Hope you aren't doing any serious G's towards the end of that session.

I don't think you need me to tell you that is not normal.

Do a leak down test.

leak down test is a much better test than a compression test.

I'm not sure if this has been said anywhere, all these threads are getting pretty far off topic, but what is your catch can setup?

overfilling oil pan will usually result in more oil being pushed out the breathers.
