EVO I, II, III group A @ WRC

Why EVO I, II, III for WRC they were LDH?

If I'm not wrong, only from IV Mitsubishi built EVO LHD.

Can anybody clarify my doubt?

^^ FIA WRC regulations are that the car must be LHD as I remember. Hence they the actual WRC cars were LHD while the Japanese homologation versions where RHD

I’m willing to bet that if there was a LHD Evo I, II or III, you could probably find such a vehicle in Canada. That is, if the object is to get it to the U.S. in an easier fashion.
